Municipal Library in Michigan City/USA
The new library building is located on an inner-city site and contributes to the revitalization of the city centre. Together with a landscaped plaza, it forms the spatial conclusion of the Franklin Mall, the city's main shopping thoroughfare. As the main library for a number of the city's public libraries, the complex encompasses nearly 3,280 m² of usable space, housing the adult and children's sections, reference collections, information, audiovisual department, technical services, administration, and sales, as well as the common area with a foyer, circulation level, and a flexibly divisible assembly hall complex.
