The former cathedral deanery is a Baroque building on Residenzplatz, erected between 1730 and 1740 on the remains of a medieval building that burned down during the Thirty Years' War. Its renovation aimed to adapt it to a new use that met contemporary requirements. The front building was redesigned to accommodate administrative functions and the cathedral choir's rehearsal hall. Part of the rear building was converted into apartments. Experience gained from similar projects led to the concept of renovating the existing Baroque elements while incorporating new features, such as staircases, doors, and partitions, in the architectural language of our time.
