Offices and Television Studios in London

A design sketch dating from 1992 shows the many functional threads that come together in the entrance zone of this building (see also Detail 95/2). The entrance is preceded by a generous forecourt and is covered by a canopy that seems to float in the air. Access to the building is via a gently rising flight of steps and a bridge of filigree design over the glazed roof of the cinema foyer below. Two sets of revolving doors give on to a narrow, curved main foyer that extends over all storeys. The point-fixed glass façade is suspended from a fan-shaped girder construction above fourth-floor level.
