Evangelical Community Centre Reishalz-Hassels in Düsseldorf
Building Project: The community centre is located in the southeastern communication area of the new Düsseldorf district of Reisholz-Hassels, alongside a school, shops, a savings bank, a library, and a restaurant. In addition to religious services, it is intended to serve a variety of activities (leisure, education, meetings, exhibitions, etc.) and act as a local hub. Planning and Function: With this in mind, the versatile and combinable meeting rooms were integrated into the pedestrian area. A foyer with skylights surrounds this complex of spaces, creating a "covered communication corridor." It extends the adjacent plaza with a weather-protected "open door area" that provides access to the worship space, community rooms, and the senior and youth rooms. Within this foyer, cloakrooms, restrooms, and ancillary rooms are grouped together in a central area, along with a kitchenette and bar serving the entire facility, located near seating areas.
