Protestant Community Centre in Oldenburg

Location: The low-rise complex is situated on a 6,200 sq m plot of land on a main access road in the west of the city. A residential collector road runs along the eastern boundary of the property. Design Concept: The building's design is based on the concept of openness to the surrounding environment. The church space, intended as a place of worship and community building, was designed with a timeless aesthetic to allow for changes in worship services and quick conversion for other community events. The ancillary rooms (youth room and playroom) were to be directly accessible from the street. Access to the entrance hall from both the street and the parking areas at the rear of the property was also a requirement. A vestibule, serving as a neutral zone, is inserted between the church space and the ancillary rooms.
