These two courtyard houses – derived from the 2000 aerated concrete prefabricated house type – reflect the growing trend towards compact living. Both houses are precisely tailored to their plots, thus making optimal use of the available building area. The 145 sq m courtyard enclosed by the L-shaped building structure offers ample open space for a particularly intimate garden. The floor plans of both houses are clearly divided into living, sleeping, and utility areas. The living and sleeping area (living room with dining area, two children's rooms, and master bedroom), largely transparent thanks to large expanses of glazing, faces the courtyard; the utility, entrance, and bathroom areas, on the other hand, are located along the more closed street frontage.
