In this café canopy on Untere Königstraße in Stuttgart, situated amidst the pedestrian flow, the rounded roof shapes were designed to complement the café furniture. Six interconnected, mushroom-shaped canopies cover an area of approximately 9 x 9 metres. Each canopy features a circular, U-shaped tension ring supported by six columns; twelve tubular rungs extend radially from its sides, converging at the apex with a steel compression ring. Plexiglas is used at the apex and in the spaces between the circular canopies. The street paving in this area is visually aligned with the basic shape of the six canopy units.
