Location: The north-facing slope of the property offers views of the Valais Alps and the Rhône Valley. Two sections of old stone wall form the boundary with a chestnut grove to the north and an orchard to the south. Building and spatial layout: The slightly staggered arrangement of the houses allowed each unit to have its own garden. To meet the diverse needs of the residents, four house types were developed, differing in size and floor plan. Their position within the group is determined by the terrain and the roof pitch. All are based on a facade module of 4.30 x 3.25 m. Generally, the internal functions are distributed across three levels: The basement on the north side contains the entrance, cellar, laundry room, and in some houses an additional room (studio, office, or workshop); the ground floor contains the living room, dining area, kitchen, south-facing terrace, and in some houses an additional room (guest room, library, or office); and the upper floor contains the bedrooms, bathrooms, and storage room.
