Athletics Hall of the Federal Performance Centre Hannover
Location: Completed in 1977, the athletics hall is located, along with the other sports buildings, in the southeastern part of the sports park, a roughly 45-hectare leisure and recreation area near Lake Moschsee, only about 1.5 km from the city centre. Features: The 90 x 41 m hall, with a height of 9 to 9.9 m, is equipped with equipment, meeting, and technical rooms (approx. 360 sq m), athletics facilities, an 8/10 m sand pit, a throwing net, and a gallery for about 180 spectators. Construction: The 40 x 90 m hall is spanned transversely by exposed, laminated timber double-web main girders spaced 11.40 m apart. These girders are 2.75 m high, each web is 30 cm wide, and the span is 54 cm.
