The administration building, arranged at an angle, is connected to the similarly designed laboratory wing. The functional areas of the administration wing, as depicted here, are arranged around two open circulation cores. These atrium-like, landscaped cores penetrate the staggered floors vertically and flow seamlessly into the open-plan offices. Horizontal circulation is provided by bridges spanning the cores. Due to the laterally offset floors, the load-bearing structure of the ceilings consists of 700 mm high main beams running transversely and cantilevering on the lake side. Along the length, edge beams and secondary beams of the same height run between the main beams. Columns are made of 350 mm high rolled sections. Concrete slabs rest on the beams. The beams at the edges and the columns are fire-resistant. In the central area, the steel ceiling beams are fire-protected by the suspended ceiling.
