Bank and Office Building with Retail Spaces in Düsseldorf Featuring a Natural Stone Facade

The building's main facade faces Königsallee, occupying a 4,724 square metre site. Of the approximately 130,000 cubic metres of enclosed space, 45,550 are below ground level. The ground floor houses shopping arcades, the entrance hall, and restaurants. The upper floors contain bank and office space. Facade construction: The building was clad with Baltico brown material, the first facade of its kind in Germany. Due to the deeply recessed columns, settling is expected in the parapet area. The facade is designed as a mirror, featuring polished granite and flush-mounted windows. Because the light-refracting elements would reflect any settling of the building structure, the anchoring of the facade panels and windows is designed to allow for vertical realignment at any time, even after settling occurs.
