Housing Development in München-Laim

The 5-6 storey complex, arranged in a semicircle around a residential courtyard (partially with a penthouse level), is articulated by staggered building volumes and projecting balcony fronts. It contains 397 residential units with an average apartment size of 58.28 sq m. The basement is constructed of steel or rammed concrete. Standard floor perimeter walls are 36.5 cm thick, made of hollow-core masonry with 3.5 cm of internal thermal insulation. Window sills are 11 or 14.5 cm thick hollow-core masonry. Balcony and loggia railings are precast reinforced concrete elements, some with integrated planters. Apartment partition walls, load-bearing interior walls, stairwell and elevator walls are constructed of 24 cm soundproof brick masonry, while non-load-bearing partition walls are made of 11.5 cm lightweight brick masonry. Interior and facade piers are made of concrete and clad externally with 3.5 cm thick plastic panels.
