The ice rink is situated in the middle of a built-up area. Therefore, a homogeneous form was chosen for the building, one that blends into its surroundings. The roof shape follows the contour of the trusses and extends far down along the long sides, where the exterior wall is only slightly high. In contrast, the narrow sides feature large windows beneath a hipped gable. To visually reduce the considerable height of the hall, necessitated by its use and construction, the ice surface was set slightly below ground level.
