Laboratory Building in the Schondorf Boarding School

The school and boarding school buildings of the Schondorf boarding school exhibit a variety of architectural styles, reflecting their respective periods of origin. Large open spaces and the dominance of vegetation integrate them into the landscape. This connection to the landscape also served as the starting point for the design of the laboratory building. Low height, calm wall surfaces with numerous views through the building, and reflections of the vegetation on the glass walls integrate the structure into its surroundings. The absence of cladding and decoration makes the structural framework of steel, glass, and brick transparent. Spatial sequence, proportion, profile, and detail define the construction and interior design grid.
