Gymnasium of a School in Kolbermoor
Building design: The hall measures 2 x 30/27 m and can be divided into two exercise areas of 15 x 27 m each, with two adjoining changing rooms, showers, and washrooms. Due to the high water table, the hall floor could only be lowered by approximately 50 cm below ground level. The standard clear height of 5.50 m (to the underside of the beams) was visually reduced by earthworks. Access is from the school via a covered walkway; the changing cubicles and the walkway for gym shoes lead via steps to the hall level with equipment rooms and a fitness room. The foyer also serves as an entrance area for sports clubs. Dormer windows above the changing cubicles provide natural light to the changing cubicles.
