Situation: The house was built into a sloping plot of land. The building regulations stipulated that the roof ridge should run perpendicular to the slope and that a 300-degree pitched roof was required. The ground floor, partially embedded in the slope, was designed as a spacious entrance and living level (a conventional basement was omitted). The first floor houses the work areas, the library, and the master bedroom. The attic contains the children's bedrooms with an adjoining play area. The fundamental principle of the spatial design was continuous openness without any enclosing walls.
