Schönberg Main Toll Plaza on the Brenner Motorway
Situation: The Brenner motorway is the most important and busiest north-south traffic artery in the Alps. The main toll plaza built at the time no longer met the requirements. To accommodate the increasing traffic flow over the next 20 years and to ensure smooth, faster, and safer toll processing, the toll plaza had to be roughly doubled in size. The latest findings regarding traffic safety, organization, control, and construction were applied in the process.
