Residential Complex in Timber Frame Construction in Nieuwegein/Netherlands

For the construction of this social housing complex, a ribbed construction method, also known as the "platform method," was chosen, a common practice in Canada and the United States. The reason for this choice (based on urban planning insights) was the desire for a differentiated complex, articulated in depth and height, comprising a total of 261 apartments of 15 different types. The two architects collaborated to develop and exchange apartment types in order to achieve a higher level of differentiation.
