The original plan to build a teaching pool in conjunction with the construction of the adjacent secondary school evolved – in light of the demands placed on Sonthofen as a tourist destination – into a public swimming pool complex with three pools. To prevent the relatively large building mass from appearing overwhelming in relation to the existing structures, a large portion of the walls were fully glazed. This resulting transparency allows the building to blend discreetly into the landscape, creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces.
