The resulting spans of 10 m - 5 m (10 m transverse and 5 m longitudinal) were also utilized effectively from a structural engineering perspective. The main girders run transversely as three-span beams. These beams are made of glulam timber (14/55 cm), with dimensions increased to 14/70 cm at the intermediate supports. This increase in beam depth at the intermediate supports results in a redistribution of moments, reducing the moments in the 10 m wide spans and increasing the support moments at the intermediate supports. This allows the main girders to be of the same depth in both the central and outer spans.
