The following objectives were decisive for the construction of the new town hall in the town centre and the associated urban planning changes to this area: the creation of a market square in the town centre with subsequent development, the integration of the new town hall as the square's boundary, and the addition and renovation of the existing buildings in the area of the Protestant church. The gap left by the demolition of the old town hall on the church square was filled with two-storey buildings.
