Nestled in a scenic location on a south-facing slope, the Lystrupl residential complex near Aarhus is a compact, low-rise development designed as an alternative to the multi-storey apartment blocks common in Denmark. This compact form of housing fosters diverse communication and community activities, while the ground-level apartments provide direct access to open spaces and communal facilities. The complex comprises 20 group homes and 93 courtyard houses, as well as a kindergarten and communal laundry at its centre.
