Detached House in Sistrans/Tyrol
The fundamental principle behind the construction of this detached house, as well as the general design of residential buildings in this landscape, was to offer a vibrant, individually designed building solution in contrast to the common "Tyrolean style" house on the one hand, and the modernist bungalow on the other – both with equally uninspiring and unimaginative interiors. A key element in the interior design of this house is the contrast between window areas and closed spaces, i.e., between light and dark zones, as well as the varying ceiling heights. The articulation of the building structure and exterior walls also reflects this spatial concept.
