AOK Regensburg Administrative Building
The new administrative building of the AOK Regensburg (a German health insurance company) was built on an 8,502 square metre former factory site directly on the banks of the Danube, east of Regensburg's old town and at its transition to the industrial area of the port. The building's design and choice of materials take the urban context into account; the requirements of historic preservation were also coordinated with the Bavarian Administration of State Palaces, Lakes and Gardens. To the west, facing the park of the neighboring Royal Villa, are the low-rise buildings housing the data centre and the caretaker's apartments.
