This holiday home in Korshage is nestled among the trees at the edge of a forest. The building's materials and design are conceived to blend seamlessly into the landscape. Both Danish and, especially, Japanese building traditions are evident: apart from two concrete cores extending down into the foundation along the central axis, the house is consistently designed as a stilt house, meaning the living area rests on stilts which—following Japanese construction methods—stand on individual foundations and are shorter at the rear of the building to accommodate the slope of the terrain. The building is crowned by a massive thatched roof.
