This house is situated in open countryside. It is unusually large for the typically limited land and plot conditions in Japan, even though the available plot itself was not large. Considering that the expansive view of the nearby mountains and the surrounding farmland might be obstructed in the near future, the entire property was enclosed by a high, palisade-like fence, a traditional feature of Japanese house construction.
