Waldbrunn Spa Resort in the High Odenwald

In the geographical centre of six villages that were merged to form the new municipality of Waldbrunn, a small wooded plot with a large clearing was discovered amidst a gently rolling meadow plateau while searching for a building site for the planned spa centre. This location proved ideal for the new recreation centre and a focal point for tourism from all the communities in the High Odenwald region. The award-winning design emerged from a competition. The planning of this centre was strongly influenced by the intention to integrate the buildings as discreetly as possible into the charming woodland meadow, minimizing disruption to the natural environment and making it visible within the structures through maximum transparency. In the final phase of development, additional play areas, relaxation facilities, and recreational areas will be added to the approximately 4-hectare site.
