The required building program (savings bank, post office, apartments) necessitated a relatively large volume compared to the surrounding rural area. To prevent the building from appearing out of place in this environment, it was designed with a highly articulated structure. Furthermore, the impression of a linear, row-of-building architecture along the main road was to be avoided. From an urban planning perspective, a good connection to the adjacent Postplatz (Post Office Square) was sought. The attic apartments are designed to be usable and accessible right up to the roof ridge.
