Children's Farm Cafeteria in Leuk/Switzerland

The cafeteria, a central building, is part of a children's village that rises in tiers along the southern slopes of a side valley leading down to the Rhone Valley. The overall complex incorporates various construction methods. The children's houses, staff quarters, administration building, and kitchen wing are constructed of concrete. The longitudinal walls of these building groups also serve as retaining walls for the steep slope. Timber was chosen for the chapel, the cafeteria, and the school pavilions. The cafeteria serves as a meeting place for children and adults, where they gather for meals and village festivals.
