Farm near Zurich
The new farm is situated in an urban open space zone (designated for agricultural buildings only) on gently sloping terrain between two wooded areas. The farm's design incorporates the traditional single-roof farmstead form. Advantages of this type of layout include covered internal utility connections, efficient routing of services, effective heat retention, and minimal forecourt space. The building mass is concentrated; the individual volumes are integrated into a unified whole. The elongated, rectangular building, sloping southward, is covered by a large, slightly offset shed roof with a counter-rotating slope.
