Meeting Place Mittelfeld in Hanover
The community centre is designed to serve a catchment area of approximately 35,000 residents. The complex is arranged around a courtyard in such a way that this access point simultaneously creates a public square for the Mittelfeld district, which lacks a central hub in this area. The complex includes a youth centre (with a hall, gymnastics and sports room, workshop, cafeteria, club room, group room, and therapy rooms), a children's area, a senior citizens' centre (with a club and exercise room, kitchenette, care room, foot care and consultation room), a public library with a collection of 20,000 volumes (including magazines, a reading corner, and a record collection), and two apartments for youth workers. The playground and after-school care area are located away from the street in the quiet northern part of the property.
