Spa and Recreation Centre in Bischofsmais-Habischried
The Siemens AG health resort and recreation centre – built according to the winning design – is situated on a wooded ridge, approximately 500 metres from the Habischried district of the Bavarian Forest municipality of Bischofsmais. For about nine months of the year, company employees (60 participants at a time) undergo preventative health retreats here, including active cardiovascular training. During the remaining three months, the centre is available to families with children for recreational holidays. There were no zoning restrictions, so the design had to be developed through a competition. The building's design was intended to create a clear contrast to typical urban architecture.
