Residential Complex in Essen-Kettwig
The approximately 3,000 sq m sloping plot is located in the town centre of Kettwig, about 150 m from the market square. It slopes down to the southeast and is bordered to the north, south, and east by multi-storey older buildings (in some cases extending directly to the property line), as well as being connected to an existing older building. The topographical features suggested a terraced atrium residential complex. By adding inward-facing living areas, visual and acoustic disturbances from the neighboring buildings, as well as between the individual residential units themselves, were largely eliminated.
