Office Building in Castletown Mills/England

This hall, serving as an open-plan office for a timber import and processing company, was originally designed as a workshop, also with potential alternative uses in mind. The fully enclosed building has a steel frame structure with hollow-profile diagonal bracing. The roof and longitudinal walls are constructed of red-painted profiled asbestos cement panels, while the end walls are fully glazed within steel frames. The interior longitudinal walls consist partly of corrugated asbestos cement sandwich panels and partly of gypsum board sandwich panels, with mineral fibre insulation in between. The interior wall panels are attached to the exterior walls using hook bolts. The roof and exterior walls form a single unit; rainwater runs off the rounded eaves into the gutters mounted on concrete bases. All building services are housed in the attic space above the suspended ceiling made of mineral fibre panels.
