Piano Factory in Braunschweig
The Grotrian-Steinweg piano factory manufactures pianos and grand pianos in various sizes. Approximately 150 pianos and 30 grand pianos are produced monthly in the workshop, requiring numerous individual handcrafted finishes upon which the quality of the instruments significantly depends. The old factory building in downtown Braunschweig, a five-storey brick structure dating from 1890, no longer met the demands of efficient production in accordance with current technological standards. Therefore, the company decided to relocate its operations to a new building on the outskirts of the city.
