In stark contrast to urban architecture, both houses are designed primarily for a genuine holiday experience. They consistently draw on the building traditions of Graubünden, in stark contrast to the prevalent generic construction in the surrounding area, often decorated with more or less pseudo-rustic elements. Both houses are structured in such a way that there are strong contrasts between the solid white cubes and the wooden roof structure resting upon them. The slight incline on the very steep slope opens up expansive views of the Upper Engadine lake district. Both houses, the smaller of which contains two guest apartments, are defined by the continuous vertical structure of the wooden columns, which are interlocked with the highly sculpted cubes.
