Around the central, two-storey living room, illuminated from above by skylights, are grouped the kitchen, study, hobby room, and bathrooms on the ground floor, and the bedrooms with their en-suite bathrooms on the upper floor, arranged around a surrounding gallery. Access to the upper floor is via a landing, and from there a staircase leads to the living room. Despite its central layout, the house has a distinct orientation: the hall is extended diagonally by two corner rooms and an intervening terrace, and opens to the garden to the south through glazed wall elements.
