Hochdahl Administrative Centre

The "Hochdahlhaus" is located in the centre of the new town of Hochdahl, on the edge of the town pond created by damming the Sedentalbach stream and the nearby Seden spring. The building comprises five sections, which, utilizing the natural 7.0-metre difference in elevation, are nestled into the hillside and cascade down to the lake's surface, or cantilever over it. The sections are staggered in height and offset in width so that the main direction of the staggered arrangement follows the longitudinal axis of the town pond, which runs diagonally to the building. This design affords excellent views of the lake and makes the building visible from afar. Gross floor area: 2,566 sq m. Total enclosed volume: approx. 7,700 cu m.
