Mountain Church near Reit Im Winkl

On a grassy ridge of the Winkelmoos alpine pastures, a 31-metre-long and 14-metre-wide enclosure was built, enclosed by a 3.30-metre-high wall. Its western half—covered by a large pent roof—consists of the church interior (50 seats and approximately 70 standing places). To the east, sliding doors open across its entire width onto a covered courtyard shaded by a mountain beech tree. A lodging wing forms the opposite end of the enclosure. Access is through a narrow opening in the northern courtyard, covered by a bell tower. The metre-thick, roughly hewn perimeter wall is constructed of boulders; the church interior features exposed brickwork, while the lodging wing has wooden cladding.
