The school grounds are bordered by three streets (one of which is heavily trafficked) and cover approximately 5,000 square metres. The six-storey classroom wing, with all classrooms uniformly oriented to the west, is positioned as far away as possible from a nearby road tunnel. A one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half-storey wing for specialized classrooms is attached to this wing. This wing follows the contours of the terrain and encloses a south-facing playground. The large building volume (a total of 40,500 cubic metres of enclosed space) precluded the creation of extensive break and recreational areas at ground level. Therefore, in addition to the terraced and noise-protected ground-floor courtyard, all roof surfaces were made accessible, richly planted, and equipped with covered break areas.
