For the architect, the starting point for the planning was the construction of his own house. However, the size of the chosen plot suggested subdivision and the planning of additional residential units. Due to the well-known disadvantages of conventional development with detached houses and the correspondingly large land requirements, the decision was made to plan a self-contained, yet staggered and structured building complex in two construction phases. The aim was to achieve maximum individual freedom, living comfort, and acoustic separation (particularly through insulated double-shell construction), while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
