The building, connected to St. Ansgar's Church (built in the 1950s), is located near the city centre; a five-minute walk to the harbor, the Inner Alster Lake, the Reeperbahn, the "Planten un Blomen" park, and close to dense residential areas and the shopping district. Five staggered structures surround the church, forming an inner courtyard. The complex reaches its greatest height of five stories at the main entrance. Towards the church square, it steps down to a two-storey, screened structure facing the street.
