Post Office Building in Gladenbach/Upper Hesse

On the sloping terrain, the top edge of the ground floor ceiling was raised approximately 1.20 m above the level of the market square. The ground floor houses internal company offices, while the upper floor contains offices and an apartment. The building features a reinforced concrete frame with cantilevered ceiling slabs. The gable ends and the remaining exterior walls consist of a 24 cm thick core masonry facing with 11.5 cm thick reddish-brown clinker bricks. The white glass balustrades of the floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor, in conjunction with the light-coloured concrete surfaces of the exterior staircases and the exposed concrete elements at the main entrance, contrast with the brickwork.
