When planning the new post office, a key consideration was its urban orientation towards the town hall opposite, creating a central hub in the new district. The office is part of a postal complex that also includes a telecommunications building and a vehicle depot; its operational function is to provide postal services not only for Allendorf, but also, in the future, together with the Marburg post office, for the entire Marburg and Biedenkopf districts.
