Row of Single-family Houses in Bochum

On the plot of land, which measures only 900 square metres, four single-family homes were built, allowing for a comparatively optimal and individually adaptable living space. Given the narrow dimensions (three houses at 5 metres each, one at 6 metres), this was only achievable by extending the buildings horizontally. In the narrower houses, the floors were staggered horizontally, while in the fourth house, they were staggered horizontally. Daylight is concentrated roughly in the centre of the houses, either through skylights in the roof extensions near the roof terrace or by a type of skylight (in the wider house). In the house shown below, located at the end of the row, the aim was to achieve a spatial quality typically found only in a detached single-family home.
