Architect's House in Holte/Denmark

The house sits on a lawn on the shore of a small lake. The living area is divided into the master suite with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom, and the children's and utility suite with two children's bedrooms, a playroom, kitchen, and ancillary rooms. The exterior walls are constructed as double-leaf brickwork with insulation in between. Due to the high-fired bricks, they exhibit varying shades (from light red to dark brown) and uneven sizes. Because of the differing brick sizes, a special jointing technique, known as sealed jointing, was chosen. In this technique, the bricks are set in ample mortar, which then seeps into the joints, filling the corners and angles.
