Self-service Supermarket near Amsterdam
"Maxis Muiden" is a self-service supermarket near Amsterdam. The single-storey building occupies 11 hectares of the 6.5-hectare site; the remaining area is used as a parking lot. With its exceptional and formally significant design, this building established a basic prototype for a series of supermarket buildings in this chain. The building received both the Dutch and European Steel Construction Awards in 1974.
