The new botanical teaching institute of the city of Geneva, located in the immediate vicinity of the botanical garden overlooking Lake Geneva, is being built in several phases and will, upon completion, house the entire plant collection (one of the most important in the world) with all its departments. The first and second construction phases comprise the scientific laboratories, a lecture hall for university practicals, the conservators' laboratories, and a library. The third construction phase will consist of a botanical museum with a conference room, cafeteria, and other facilities.
