Hotel Du Lac in Tunis

The building's unusual form was chosen for architectural, functional, and structural reasons. Firstly, it was intended to visually accentuate the city area near the harbor, symbolizing the country's expanding tourism industry. This also led to the requirement that as many hotel rooms as possible should offer expansive views of the city or the sea; hence, the number of rooms increased with each subsequent floor.
