Single-Family Houses in Kaltenkirchen
The complex comprises ten single-storey terraced houses with a bay width of 12 metres. Despite the dense construction, undisturbed living without disturbance to neighbors has been achieved: Staggered building arrangements, the use of privacy screens, and extensive landscaping have created enclosed outdoor spaces. The floor plans result in a highly sculptural articulation of the building volumes. Each house features a staggered bedroom level. Living and sleeping areas are thus spatially separated, yet closely connected. The basement rooms are only half a flight of stairs lower than the living areas and only about 50 to 60 centimeters below ground level, making them highly usable.
